Stem cell burger meat substitute food livestock environment
A piece of meat grown in a laboratory from stem cells is being described as the world's most expensive hamburger. The hope is that meat grown this way could one day help feed the world's growing population, reduce animal suffering and be kinder to the environment. VoR's Louis Degenhardt reports. The research was done at Maastricht University in the Netherlands and part financed by money donated by one of the Google founders - Sergei Brin.
