Six would-be terrorists who planned to attack a demonstration by the far-right English Defence League (EDL) have pleaded guilty to terrorism offences. We spoke to Raffaello Pantucci, Senior Research Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies about the implications. The men, all from the West Midlands, were armed with a home-made bomb, guns, knives and a machete. They targeted a rally in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, in June last year but arrived too late at the protest.
